Send Money

A trouble about the money transfer to a bank account occurred.

In Japan we can send money directly to any bank. I thought this is
also possible in a foreign country, especially in advanced countries.
But the answer is NO???

I asked a company in the USA to transfer money into a bank account in
the USA. But they required the intermediate bank account etc...

In Japan we can easily specify a bank number, a branch number, an
account number, and the name of the account holder. On the other
hand, in the US I thought an ABA number corresponds to a bank number.
I also passed the SWIFT code for this transfer...

The problem comes from the mistake either mine or the company's. I'm
going to explain my understanding as well as I will ask for the bank
whether such intermediate banks exist or not. (-_-;;;
